Moved to Aberthaw Power Station for an outage (Bonus Surveyor and Supervisor), and then to completion of Ince 'B' Power Station, and

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Employed on the day to day project management and site administration of speculative housing and light industrial developments. Project managed medium size industrial units up to£700,000 in value.

Promoted to COMMERCIAL SURVEYOR and undertook similar works with a wider range of customers. Assisted in the project management and administration of a 20 lane bowling centre
(£1.2m), and a new office development (£1.0m).

SENIOR MAINTENANCE SURVEYOR

Employed as a team leader of three technical staff on planned
preventative maintenance of 12400 council dwellings with
responsibility for a budget of £800,000 per annum. All contracts were handled from brief to final account directly, including design,
specification, tendering, administration and agreement of final
account.

Promoted to PRINCIPAL CONTRACT MONITORING OFFICER in 1996 after reorganization. This is a third tier post acting as clients agent on the day to day management of a contract containing 4400 dwellings. The post also involves the monitoring of four similar contracts and clients representative for maintenance issues of all four contracts (all 12400 dwellings).

Promoted again to PRINCIPAL HOUSING PROGRAMME COODINATOR in 1998 after Local Government Review. The post involves Project Management of the Single Regeneration Budget in respect of Estate Action, the monitoring of Capital and Response Based Maintenance through out the authority. Still client representative on all building related issues.

1999 - 2000

REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Employed as the leader of a small team of surveyors for the planned and cyclical maintenance of 6700 dwellings in the Corby area. Also provided technical information to housing staff, and monitor the budget spend of approx £4m. Also act as project manager for the S.R.B projects being undertaken.

Self Employed Since September 2000, I have been self employed working for a wide range of organisations, on a wide variety of housing and commercial properties throughout East Anglia and East Midlands. The work includes condition surveys, quality surveys and post inspections of new work, plus specification preparation and contract management.

INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES

CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF BUILDING - I regularly attend meetings of the Cambridge and Peterborough regions , and I am an ex committee member of both the Liverpool and Suffolk branches. I maintain my continued professional development commitment to both the CIOB and RICS.

SWIMMING - I enjoy swimming as a form of regular exercise.
